It is very truly
said that there is no age bar for practicing yoga. One need not worry
about his or her age if he wants to start yoga. No hindrances of age,
caste, creed or color must be considered in this field. It is open to all.
The earlier you relate yourself to yoga, the more amount of benefit you
will achieve from it. One can never loose anything by performing it. It is
only gain and gains that result from the ultimate practice of yoga.
If one did not have
the glory to practice it in his early age then one must not avoid
beginning it at the present age.
Many a time it is
observed that people, in their age of retirement, do not take proper care
of themselves. Irregular and unhealthy eating habits and laziness towards
physical workouts are observed in the old age. Well one should know that
old age is the time where one must be all the more careful regarding the
diet and the fitness. Because this is the time when our body is quite
vulnerable to many diseases, and if proper care is not taken then there is
no way to recover from such panics. One has to surrender to the problem
that has attacked our body. Thus, in order to avoid this situation of
surrendering. one must conquer over such stigmas. To take of oneself by
adopting proper eating habits and by making exercises as a regular part of
life, one can learn to stand through all diseases.
One should always
consult to the doctor if they are practicing yoga for the first time, as
few poses and asanas may not be recommended to few people. Yoga is a
combination of asanas, breathing techniques and meditation. One of the
basic steps of yoga is Pranayama which can be opted at the beginners
stage. Not to exert oneself and not to bend too much while performing yoga
are the key rules of it.
By regular practices
of yoga, the body gets flexible. These are very simple exercises where
perfection can be gained by regular practices. Breathing techniques help
out in making the respiratory system work well. By proper practices of
meditation, mind is relieved from stress. Thus yoga helps in curing many
illnesses.
At an elderly age,
where people have opted to be on bed rather than exercising, yoga can be
of a great help. Its regular practice keeps the body fit and healthy,
which in turn helps the person in being active. A stress free mind and a
fit body, at an elderly age is a great asset. One remains young from heart
also if he possesses these assets at any age. Thus yoga is considered to
be a way leading to nirvana.
