By the
principles of Ayurveda, human health is said to be maintained by the balance
that is played out between three subtle energies knows as doshas. Collectively
know as Tridoshas, they are kuph, wata and pitta. The tendency to put on weight,
which is often unavoidable with todays life style, is attributed to the kuph
dosha. The excessive weight is not only unburdened food; it can also be
attributed to the unwanted storage of various thoughts, desires and wishes in
the mind. Thus, it helps to know how aahar, vihar and vishram purify, correct
