In our daily life we frequently are victims of
headaches. At times they are long lasting and at times they are short
lived. Some last for few minutes while others accompany us for few days or
can say even for months. But we hardly know which kind of headache are we
suffering from.
If considered, we will come to know that there are
many kind of headaches. Few of them are as follows: - migraine where one
side of the brain aches a lot, sinus, cluster headache which is quite rare
but very painful, and so on. Amongst them one of the most common headaches
in date is TENSION HEADACHE. The causes of migraine or cluster headache
are not known. But there are many possible and obvious reasons for the
occurrence of a tension headache.
Nearly 85% of people throughout the world suffer
from it. It is a scenario where the muscle around the skill contracts
suddenly, which in turn avoids the blood flow to reach the brain. That is
the reason why our head starts aching.
The symptoms of tension headache are many times
misunderstood by that of migraine, because for a layman their many
symptoms are overlapping. But both headaches i.e. migraine and tension
headache are different from each other. There is a possibility that both
might occur together to a person at the same time but they cannot be
called same.
In this case we feel a pressure band around our
head. It is so b because the muscles surrounding the skull contracts as we
take tension. This contracted muscle then avoids the blood circulation to
reach the mind. Because of the stoppage of blood flow we feel our head
spinning around. This is the procedure of tension headache.
There are many reasons to be blamed for the
occurrence of such type of headaches. Stress, strains, over load of work
is few of such reasons. It is also reactive to the way in which we handle
the stress and tensions in our daily life.
If these headaches occur occasionally then there
is not much to worry about. A proper amount of rest and free mind can help
in overcoming this problem. But if the attacks of tension headaches are
frequent i.e. once in a day, or chronic attacks, or so then the
seriousness of this problem should not be neglected. One must visit the
doctor for proper treatment as there is no need for bearing unnecessary
pains.
One should try to relax and listen to some good music
and refresh his mind in order to free himself from the stress. At times
counseling can also be of good help. One should avoid taking drugs at the
first instance. As they might at times leave a side effect.
Thus tension headache is a part of
normally everyones life. One cannot avoid taking tension in today s time
and because of this tension headache is a special invitee in the present
time. But one must not avoid consulting the doctor for the frequent
occurrence of such headaches.
