Types of Anxiety

A feeling of nervousness or fear is what defines anxiety. Many times people are anxious without a reason or at times there are justified causes for their being anxious. At times worrying for your near and dear ones can cause anxiety but if this feel is allowed to take over your mind then it might also affect your health.

Many a times the term FEAR and ANXIETY are interchanged because scientifically they have a same meaning. Fear is an emotional reaction and behavior while anxiety is termed as and unpleasant but emotional reaction.

The various types of anxiety disorder are termed as follows: -

1. Panic disorder is where people suddenly feel a terror attack.

2. Obsession - Compulsive disorder is a situation where a person is constantly haunted with disturbing thoughts and thus performs activities which mentally satisfy him and make him free from such thoughts.

3. When a person passes through a sudden attack of the loss of near ones or being assaulted sexually, then such events haunt the person for a long time making him numb. this is known as Post traumatic stress disorder.

4. Social anxiety disorder is a situation where a person is too much concerned about how wills the society react on his acts. He is always worried about society's comments.

5. When a person is too much overloaded with work in his regular work time he is bound to be stressed which may result into mental disorder again.

The above are few of the anxiety disorders noticed in regular life. Children overloaded with school work or adults passing through financial stress are examples which may lead to anxiety disorder.

Many a times it is noticed that anxiety disorders are due to chemical imbalance that occurs in mind because of prolonged stress in everyday life. Though the exact reason for anxiety disorder is not known yet like other mental illness, anxiety disorder is not the result of weakness in oneself or poor background.

Being Anxious is a normal phenomena of one's life but Anxiety disorder is considered to be a serious mental illness. This disorder many a times affects the decision taking ability of a person. Thus anxiety can be termed as a blanket word which covers fear, worry and such kind of feelings under one roof
